This african lady from east africa told me that all ethipoians are light skinned and when they come to america they all act white. She said when ethiopians come here they don’t want the ppl here in america to call them "Black". The ethiopians I see are dark skinned.

False! All ethiopians range from tar jet black to dark dark brown. Much as they hate to be labeled as black, THEY ARE BLACK!. It is funny that ethiopians try to act better than their fellow black Africans and other black American cousins however they have the same problems. They:

1. Are one of the POOREST countries in Africa. Very few to little resources. One of the main reasons they are always running to America and Europe. Because THEY HAVE NOTHING IN THEIR COUNTRIES.

2. They are constantly FIGHTING AND KILLING EACH OTHER THRU GANG VIOLENCE (BLACK ON BLACK CRIMIE).

3. THEY ARE STARVING TO DEATH IN ETHIOPIA.

4. They have not advanced beyond the stone age despite the fact they have had their independence for years.

5. They have ONE OF THE HIGHEST POPULATIONS WITH AIDS IN AFRICA.

6. They have been SLAVES OF ARABS AND EUROPEANS in many facets of history. ALONG WITH BEING MADE SLAVES BY FELLOW AFRICANS. (Egypt conquered Ethiopia and ruled them for centuries)

By the way who do you think "U.S. Aid in Africa was for?"

They also have ******* features, NOT EUROPEAN AT ALL. It is unfortunate that many ethiopians REFUSE to accept their history.

Let me start with the very first person who brought this issue to this forum: Kelis Jordan (I Love White Men).. First of all, the comment you made is a complete crap and portrays your ignorance and hasty nature to judge people with no any due consideration of facts that lie at the ground. This is the true nature of you people in the West Africa subcontinent.. that was one of your flaw your colonizers used to control you. No any single Ethiopian considers himself/herself as a white and acts like a white.. not at all.. in fact an Ethiopian would consider it as an insult if you call him/her a white.. As Ethiopian clearly knows and accepts his/her being only Ethiopian… what one can clearly understand from the backstage of your question is the reality of the negative sentiment you developed because of your inferiority complex – a psychological disorder.. this, you might have developed it as you frequently heard about (at least) the morphological beauty of Ethiopian women.. this might have offended you. I personally have experience in Europe where Nigerians confronted someone from Asia when he commented about this thing….. You look you are on identity crisis .. that is why you yourself said “I Love White Men” besides your nick… Ethiopian women have self respect and dignity and simultaneously respect others too.. this is the quality you clearly lack.

Coming to the second person who responded for the question – ATHENA GODDESS OF WISDOM, what you answered again clearly indicates your stupidity (sorry for the bad word- because I couldn’t find any else that fits you). You have no clue about the reality. Instead of rushing to judge and condemn (based on your confrontation with, may be, a single disorientated individual) the whole nation that has a dignified historical backup for the fact that Ethiopia has been one of the very few ancient places where civilization originated, you should have rushed to learn and armor yourself with knowledge .. to come straight to your flawed answers-

Ethiopia is actually a country endowed with so many physical land resources that range from minerals, natural gas and others to ample water sources.. it is the waters of Ethiopia that fully sustain Sudan and Egypt, at least. About 90% of the Nile (longest river on earth that is referred to as Ghion in the bible) water is coming from Ethiopia ..many upstream rivers that you trace from neighboring countries to their source in Ethiopia… Learn the facts first before you consider yourself as someone who knows everything and judge.

Gang violence is the history of you people and not Ethiopia’s problem. All the conflicts in Ethiopia are of political origin (both from inside & outside the country) and has no any feature of gang related conflicts or violence whatsoever. After all Ethiopia is a country where Islam and Christianity coexisted with a complete harmony, peace & love.. the only country where both religions survived with the people from both groups living the real picture of belief through intermarriage for centuries with no flaw.. This has been our culture all through..That was why both conspicuous figure in the two major religions (Jesus Christ & Prophet Mohammed) praised Ethiopia.

Beware that it is even the only African country that has a very long history of literacy tradition. The only country that has got its own alphabets and numbers for thousands of years.. by the time the whole of Africa got difficulty even to understand what others have created already, Ethiopians have long ago created themselves. And were able to build magnificent buildings thousands of years back that portray the then splendid architectural skills.
By the time your ancestors and the rest of Africa worshiped stones, Ethiopians knew the Almighty God (Judaism) and has been practicing the religions that you only now practice.

5. it is not even arguable and is a confirmed fact by science that you know where HIV aids originated from. It is West Africans who brought the virus into the world.

6. The number 6 answer of yours shows your complete idiocy.. Learn history.. we had war with Egypt and Ethiopia defeated Egypt conclusively. We are also the only non white nation who defeated European power and never, whatsoever, in history has Ethiopia been enslaved… and by that we have come to be the pride of not only Africa but also African Americans and other colored people on the planet.

Yes We Ethiopians have people with a skin complexion that range from very dark to very light skin and we love that fact. An we all identify ourselves as Ethiopians.
That is our identity and we are not subdued by others. We have self pride and dignity that can always be backed up by history… Try to develop a positive sprit and be happy when nations from other continents praise the true beauty of Ethiopian women. Think like this: when they say "Ethiopian women are beautiful" they dont mean you are ugly. Dont come out with hatered and bad envy and expose your true ugliness
